Paul King Wins May 23 Mock Session
The May 23, 2026, Mock Session commenced in a grand style with an electrifying ministration by the choir. Their powerful worship set the tone for another spiritually enriching and intellectually engaging gathering for both disciples and would-be disciples.
Following the ministration, the President, Mr. Nsikan E. Johnny, officially opened the session with a heartfelt prayer, committing the day’s activities into God’s hands. He then introduced the jury for the day – Pastor Uma Ernest, Edidiong, and Lizzy. These jury were entrusted with the responsibility of evaluating the participants’ presentations.
The scripture focus for the session was Acts 7, a profound chapter detailing Stephen’s defense of the faith and God’s dealings with Israel. After the scripture reading, the President made the customary call for disciples and would-be disciples to participate in the Mock Session. Fourteen enthusiastic participants responded, eager to test their understanding of Scripture and their ability to minister effectively.
Before proceeding to the main contest, participants were required to qualify by answering a preliminary Bible question drawn from Exodus 20.
The President asked: “In what book and verse of the Scripture can the Ten Commandments be found?”
A member of the congregation, Jeremiah Dennis, correctly answered, Exodus 20:1-20.
His accurate response earned him an instant cash prize of ₦10,000.
Surprisingly, none of the intended participants could answer the question correctly, forcing the President to ask a second qualifying question:
“According to Exodus chapter 23, how many times could a male in Israel appear before God in a year, and on what occasions?”
Seven out of the fourteen participants answered correctly: three times yearly – during the Festival of Unleavened Bread, the Festival of First Harvest, and the Festival of Final Harvest. Their correct responses secured their advancement into the main contest.
With qualification complete, the atmosphere intensified as the contestants began their five-minute ministrations from various portions of Acts 7.
One after another, the participants mounted the stage to deliver five-minute ministrations from different portions of Acts Chapter 7. Some spoke with fiery conviction, others with calm clarity, but each ministered with sincerity and hunger to communicate God’s Word.
At the end of the presentations, Paul King emerged as the Overall Champion of the day with an impressive score of 6.5/10. Iweke Kingsley and Ntinwudobong Udofia followed closely behind with a tie score of 6/10 each.
To determine the second and third place winners, the President initiated a tiebreaker question: “When Moses fled Egypt and arrived in Midian, how many years did he stay there before God appeared to him?”
Ntinwudobong Udofia answered correctly – 40 years – earning himself the second-place position, while Iweke Kingsley emerged as the second runner-up.
Paul King went home with a cheque of ₦250,000 as Champion of the Day. Ntinwudobong Udofia was awarded ₦100,000 for second place, while Iweke Kingsley received ₦50,000 as third-place winner. The remaining participants were not excluded; each received a consolation prize of ₦10,000 for their effort and participation.
The memorable session concluded on a powerful note with an intense closing ministration by the choir, leaving attendees spiritually stirred, inspired, and eager for the next gathering.
Indeed, the May 23 Mock Session was more than a contest – it was a celebration of Scripture, discipleship, courage, and spiritual growth.
