6-Way Tie Ends in Dramatic Finish as Emmanuel Edward Emerges Champion at August 1 Mock Session

It was an atmosphere of joy, anticipation, and deep spiritual hunger as participants gathered for the August 1 New Disciples Mock Session at the Uyo Fellowship Center.

The session opened on a high note with a powerful ministration by the choir, setting the tone for a day dedicated to God’s Word. This was followed by an opening prayer by the President, Nsikan Johnny, who committed the entire programme into God’s hands and prayed for divine direction throughout the day’s activities.

After the reading of the Bible portion for the week, the jury comprising Pastor Umah Ernest, Lizzy, and John Paul was introduced. With Romans Chapter 1 serving as the assigned text, twelve disciples and would-be disciples stepped forward to participate in the Mock Session

In a remarkable display of grace, the President waived the preliminary screening questions, allowing all twelve contestants to proceed directly to the preaching contest.

What followed was nothing short of inspiring. After the first round of five-minute ministrations, six participants – Emmanuel Edward, Kingsley Iwueke, Charles Michael, Jeremiah Jacob, Paul King, and Ini Daniel – each secured an impressive 6½ out of 10, resulting in a rare six-way tie.

At the end of another gripping round, Emmanuel Edward emerged Champion of the Day with a remarkable 7/10. Kingsley Iwueke finished as First Runner-up with 6 out of 10, while Paul King placed third with 5.5 out of 10.

Emmanuel Edward received a cheque of ₦250,000, Kingsley Iwueke was presented with ₦100,000, while Paul King went home with ₦50,000. The remaining contestants were not left out, as each received a ₦20,000 cash transfer in appreciation of their participation.

Beyond the prizes, the session revealed something far more significant: a generation passionately hungry for biblical truth, eager to be sharpened, equipped, and released for Kingdom impact. The altar is calling – and this generation is answering.
