Paul King Wins March 28 Mock Session
The March 28 Mock Session was an engaging and competitive gathering that brought together passionate participants eager to demonstrate their understanding of the Scripture.
Presiding over the session was the President, Mr. Nsikan E. Johnny, while the jury for the day comprised Pastor Umah Ernest, Lizzy, and John Paul.
A total of 20 enthusiastic individuals responded to the call for discipleship. However, with only 12 slots available, a preliminary screening was conducted.
The President posed a question drawn from John 9, thus:
After Jesus healed the blind man, the people presented him to the church council.
The church council asked the blind man for his opinion of Jesus. What was his response?
Fourteen participants correctly answered, “I think he is a prophet,” but only the first 12 to submit the correct answer advanced to the main session.
Five non-participants from the congregation also answered the preliminary question correctly and were each rewarded with a cash prize of ₦10,000.
The Scripture focus for the day was Genesis 38, and participants were given the freedom to speak from any portion of the chapter. Each contestant delivered five-minute presentations filled with insight, conviction, and depth. The jury listened with rapt attention and assessed their performances thus:

At the end of the session, Paul King emerged as the winner with a top score of 6.5/10. Imedu Effiong secured second place with 5.5/10.
However, the battle for third place brought a fresh wave of suspense. Asian Pillar and Ntinwutobong Udofia were tied at 5/10, prompting the President to issue a tie-breaker question from Genesis 38: How many children did Judah have?
In a decisive moment, Asian Pillar answered correctly – five – securing the third place.
4 members of the congregation equally answered correctly and were each instantly rewarded with cash prizes of ₦10,000.
The event reached its grand finale with the presentation of cheques to the top three winners, bringing the memorable session to a fitting and celebratory close.
Paul King went home with a cheque of ₦250,000 as the champion of the day
Imedu Effiong took home a cheque of ₦100,000 as the 2nd place winner, while Asian Pillar, who secured the third place, went home with a cheque of ₦50,000.
Once again, the Mock Session proved to be not just a contest but a vibrant platform for learning, participation, and rewarding excellence.
