Biblical Brilliance: Ekaete Usenobong Wins November 1 Mock Session
On November 1, a mock session for the New Disciples show took place, featuring 14 enthusiastic participants. To qualify for the session, participants had to correctly answer a question from Matthew 5:
“What Blessedness is for those who are poor in Spirit for…”
The correct answer, “for theirs is the kingdom of heaven,” was given by 11 participants. However, only the first 7 to answer correctly were selected to participate in the mock session.
The 7 participants who qualified were Joshua Akpan, Paul King, Imedu Effiong, Mr. Udofia, Ekaete Usenobong, Mst. Confidence, and Ella Bassey. They shared from Joel 1, and a jury evaluated their presentations.
The scores were as follows:
– Joshua Akpan: 3/10 (shared out of context)
– Paul King: 5/10 (good presentation, but interpretation of verse 15 was off)
– Imedu Effiong: scored 3/10 for sharing out of context, and his interpretation of verse 15 was incorrect
– Mr. Udofia: 3/10 (shared out of context)
– Mst. Confidence: 3/10 (shared out of context)
– Ekaete Usenobong: 5/10 (great presentation, but misinterpreted verse 15)
– Ella Bassey: stopped midway due to incorrect interpretation of “seed” in Verse 17
After the presentations, Paul King and Ekaete Usenobong emerged as the top two. In a tiebreaker question from Matthew 11, Ekaete Usenobong correctly answered that Jesus mentioned “grass and priestly robes” before prophets, while Paul King mentioned only “grass.” Ekaete Usenobong took the top spot, and Paul King came in second.
The mock session highlighted the importance of accurate Bible knowledge and interpretation.
Congratulations to Ekaete Usenobong on her victory.
