Mock Session: Confidence Cletus Shines on Jan. 31, 2026
The New Disciples Mock Session, held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, kicked off after a powerful praise session by the choir, which was followed by a heartfelt prayer from President – Mr. Nsikan Johnny.
20 eager participants who indicated interest to participate in the mock session were asked a qualifying preliminary question from Matthew 27 by the President thus:
“When Jesus was before Pilate, the crowd shouted that a prisoner should be released while Jesus was to be crucified. Why did the crowd ask that Jesus should be crucified?”
Before the participants could respond, three audience members – Etim Etim, Peter Godfrey, and Mr. Bakare – swooped in with the correct answer: the crowd was influenced by the religious leaders!
They walked away with instant prizes of N10,000.00 each.
Six participants who answered correctly proceeded to the actual contest, guided by the esteemed jury panel comprising: Pastor Moses, John Paul, and Pastor Umah Ernest. The participants shared insightful reflections on Luke 17.
In the end, Mst. Confidence Cletus emerged victorious with a score of 7/10!
Emmanuel Edward scored 4/10, while Iweke Kingsley, Imedu Effiong, Precious Eyo, and Emem Abang tied with 5/10 each.
A tie-breaker question from Matthew 27 determined the second and third places:
“When Pilate asked the crowd what crime Jesus committed that they wanted him crucified, what did the crowd say?”
Emem Abang submitted the first correct answer – “they shouted the more, crucify him” – securing second place. Imedu Effiong followed with the next correct answer, claiming third place.
The winners took home impressive prizes: Confidence Cletus (N250,000.00), Emem Abang (N100,000.00), and Imedu Effiong (N50,000.00). The other participants received consolation prizes of N10,000.00 each.
