Hope Patrick Ituen Wins the Crown at February 14 Mock Session
The spirit of learning, fellowship, and healthy competition came alive during the New Disciples Mock Session held on February 14, 2026, as members gathered for an engaging exercise centered on the study of God’s Word. The session provided an opportunity for participants to test their biblical knowledge while inspiring the congregation to deepen their understanding of Scripture.
The atmosphere of the February 14, 2026 mock session was set ablaze by an uplifting choir ministration which was followed by an opening prayer led by the president of the fellowship, Mr. Nsikan Johnny.
A total of 20 eager individuals indicated their interest in participating in the mock contest. To screen contestants for the main exercise, the president posed a preliminary question drawn from the book of Genesis 6:
“In the days of Noah, when God destroyed the world with water, how many sources of water did God use? Name them.”
The question immediately stirred excitement in the congregation. Ndifreke Bassey, Etim Etim, and Peter Gregory responded correctly from the audience and were instantly rewarded with ₦10,000 each for their prompt and accurate answers.
Among those hoping to compete, nine participants correctly identified the two sources of water – “the fountains of the deep and the floodwaters” – thereby qualifying for the main contest.
The session was presided over by a jury panel consisting of Lizzy, Dominic, and Pastor Umah Ernest, who carefully evaluated the contestants’ presentations and scriptural interpretations.
After the contestants completed their ministrations, the jury released the scores as follows:
Paul King – 7/10
Patrick Ituen – 7/10
Emem Abang – 6.5/10
Chimzie Aku – 6.5/10
Ime Fortune – 6.5/10
Emmanuel Edward – 6/10
Aniefiok J. – 5.5/10
Bakare Taiwo – 5.5/10
Joshua Akpan – 5.5/10
With Paul King and Patrick Ituen tied at the top with 7/10, a special quiz round was required to determine the first and second place winners. At the same time, the third position would be decided among the three contestants who scored 6.5/10: Emem Abang, Chimzie Aku, and Ime Fortune.
The president then posed a tie-breaker question from Genesis 17 to all contestants:
“How did Noah get the animals that went with him into the ark?”
Among those tied at 6.5, Emem Abang submitted the first correct answer, securing third place in the competition.
However, the battle for first position between Paul King and Patrick Ituen remained unresolved, as neither contestant answered the first tie-breaker correctly. Consequently, a second question was posed:
“Apart from the living things that were in the ark, which other living thing survived the flood?”
With calm confidence, Patrick Ituen provided the correct answer: aquatic animals. His accurate response earned him first place, while Paul King automatically secured second place.
Patrick Ituen went home with a cheque of ₦250,000 being the first place prize.
Paul King who secured second place and went home with a cheque of of ₦100,000, while Emem Abang went home with a cheque of ₦50,000.
The session concluded on a reverent note as Mr. Nsikan Johnny pronounced the benediction, bringing the gathering to a close. Participants and observers alike left the fellowship encouraged and inspired, reminded that diligent study of the Scriptures not only enriches the mind but also strengthens the believer’s walk with God.
